Definition
Puell Multiple — daily miner issuance revenue divided by its 365-day average. Tracks miner-driven sell pressure.
Formula
puell_multiple = issuance_usd / rolling₃₆₅_mean(issuance_usd)How we compute it
Issuance is reconstructed as the day-over-day change in total mined BTC, valued at price. Divided by its 365-day mean (min 30 days), clamped to [0, 10].
Interpretation
Below 0.5 = miner capitulation (revenue far below trend, historically near bottoms); above 4 = overheated miner revenue (top risk).
Caveats & limitations
- ·This standard Puell uses issuance derived synthetically from supply diff and excludes fees. For a fee-inclusive, true-coinbase version see the real Puell Multiple (`puell_multiple_real`).
