About the indicator builder

The builder lets you define your own Bitcoin indicator as a formula over the published on-chain metrics and chart it across the full history. You can add, subtract, multiply and divide series, group terms in brackets and mix in constants: for example, dividing market cap by realized cap to reconstruct MVRV, or combining a valuation ratio with a flow metric to test an idea of your own.

Formulas are evaluated day by day on the same dataset that drives the rest of the site, computed from our own full-archive Bitcoin node. The builder shows the formula as a flow of inputs and operations so you can check exactly what is being computed, and saved formulas stay in your browser. Nothing you write is sent to our servers.

Some parts of the builder are marked illustrative where the feature is not yet connected to live data. Those markers are deliberate, so you always know which numbers are real. When a custom indicator looks promising, compare it with the established metrics it is built from, and test it in the backtester before reading anything into it.
