Definition
Long-Term Holder SOPR (true cohort) — profit ratio of spends from coins older than 155 days. Replaces the LTH-SOPR proxy.
Formula
lth_sopr = Σ lth_spent_market_usd / Σ lth_spent_realized_usdHow we compute it
From long-term-holder spent outputs (market value at spend ÷ cost basis), via the cohort-extraction stage.
Interpretation
Sharp rises signal seasoned holders taking profit (top-forming); readings below 1 are rare and mark deep capitulation.
Caveats & limitations
- ·Requires the cohort-extraction stage. (The earlier `lth_sopr_proxy` = SOPR × LTH supply share was withdrawn in Sep 2026: it was not a SOPR ratio.)
Current LTH SOPR reading
As of 2026-10-16, Bitcoin’s LTH SOPR is 1.213, compared with 1.356 one year earlier (2025-10-16). The series has 5,726 daily readings from 2011-01-23 to 2026-10-16, computed from our own full-archive Bitcoin node and refreshed every day.
Historical extremes
The highest LTH SOPR on record is 667,287.7 on 2011-06-23; the lowest is 0.129 on 2011-11-28. Readings near either end of that range have historically coincided with cycle turning points — use the chart above to see where today sits relative to past extremes.
